A Full Wash Bay Inside One Container
No Civil Works, No Permits
Building a permanent wash bay in a heavy equipment yard in Sharjah requires civil foundation works, drainage trench construction, municipality approval, and connection to the main drainage network. That process takes months and costs significantly more than most equipment yard operators want to spend on a single facility.
This project installed a self-contained 20ft wash bay container at a heavy equipment yard off Maleha Road in Sharjah Industrial Area 3. The client had excavators, dump trucks, and concrete mixers coming off site daily covered in mud, cement, and oil. No wash facility existed on the compound. The Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority regulations require operators to manage wash water and prevent oil and contaminated water from entering the storm drainage system.
Our wash bay container connects to a standard 1-inch cold water inlet and a 380V three-phase power supply. The hot water system, drainage, and oil-water separator operate entirely from inside the container. No connection to the main drainage network is required. Contaminated wash water goes through the oil-water separator before discharge, keeping the operator compliant with Sharjah Municipality environmental requirements.
Hot Water System
Electric Boiler, 80L Capacity
An 80-litre electric boiler mounted inside the container supplies hot water to a high-pressure wash gun connection point on the exterior wall. Hot water washing removes dried cement, bitumen, and grease from equipment surfaces that cold water cannot shift. The boiler runs on a dedicated 32-amp single-phase circuit and heats an 80-litre tank to 60°C in under 25 minutes. The high-pressure connection accepts a standard 1/4-inch BSP quick-release wash gun fitting.
Oil-Water Separator Sharjah Municipality Compliant
All wash water drains through a floor channel into a built-in oil-water separator unit mounted at the container end. The separator removes free oils, greases, and suspended solids from the wash water before discharge. Industrial facilities in UAE are required to treat and recycle effluent from vehicle and equipment wash bays before any discharge, this separator meets that requirement for heavy equipment yards in Sharjah Industrial Area. The separator requires cleaning every 30 to 60 days depending on daily wash volumes.
GRP Non-Slip Floor with Slope Full Drainage Coverage
The full floor area is glass-reinforced plastic panel with a 20mm fall toward the central drainage channel. GRP does not corrode, does not absorb oil or fuel, and handles the daily weight of wash water, boots, and cleaning equipment without cracking or lifting. The 20mm slope ensures wash water runs to the channel without pooling, standing water on a workshop floor is a slip hazard under UAE Occupational Health and Safety regulations for industrial zones.
